About Your Bill

The Current Charges portion of an Energy Choice customer’s bill is divided into two parts:

1. Dominion Energy Ohio Charges

  - Basic Service Charge
  - Usage Based Charges / MCF
  - Gross Receipts Tax

2. Supplier Charges*

  - Cost of the Gas / MCF
  - Sales Tax

* Your bill may differ from the bill of others in the Supplier Charges section. The rate plan option and/or supplier in this portion of the bill will vary from one customer to another.

Please review the samples below for more information. You are likely to see one or more in combination of the following on the Supplier Charges section of the bill:

  - Name of Supplier
  - Name of an Aggregation Group or City
  - Description Standard Choice Offer (SCO) or Monthly Retail Rate (MRR)
  • Aggregation

    • Aggregation customers have a named supplier and typically include the name of your municipality/city or a named aggregator, such as NOPEC.
    • Aggregation programs are typically a ballot issue voted on by constituents for a geographical area. They are either on an Opt-In or Opt-Out basis.
    • Rates can be fixed, variable, or include both in a contract term.
    • Ending an Aggregation agreement early may result in termination fees.
    • Contact the supplier on your bill before making any changes.
  • Energy Choice Agreement

    • Energy Choice customers with a supplier agreement have a named supplier on their bill along with contact information for the supplier.
    • Energy Choice agreements are offered by participating suppliers offering contract rates.
    • Rates can be fixed, variable, or include both in a contract term.
    • Ending an Energy Choice agreement early may result in termination fees.
    • Contact the supplier on your bill before making any changes.
  • Monthly Retail Rate
    • Medium and large nonresidential customers have a named supplier and a Monthly Retail Rate (MRR) will be indicated.
    • Rates vary on a monthly basis and are based on the median of the lowest monthly variable rate submitted by the MRR suppliers, the "median MRR price", or the assigned supplier’s submitted monthly variable rate if it is lower than the media price.
    • There are no early termination fees for changing from this rate option to another.
    • Medium nonresidential customers may elect the SCO instead of the MRR.
