Home Performance with ENERGY STAR

Dominion Energy Ohio's Home Performance with ENERGY STAR (HPwES) program through CLEAResult is designed to help our residential customers improve their homes' energy efficiency. A home performance assessment, or energy audit, is the first step in improving a home's efficiency and reducing energy consumption through this program. The subsidized cost for the home performance assessment is $50. If you can choose to complete energy efficiency improvements recommended as a result of the assessment, you could take advantage of up to $1,250 in rebates offered through this program.

Budget Billing

In addition to energy conservation in your home, there are a few other options to help you manage your energy costs. Dominion Energy Ohio offers the Budget Billing program, where the cost of your energy usage is spread out over a 12-month period. With Budget Billing, you pay a set amount each month rather than lower gas bills in the summer and higher natural gas bills in the winter.

At the end of the 12-month period a true-up is performed to ensure that you have been billed no more or no less than your actual natural gas costs. You will receive a bill or a credit depending on whether you used more or less energy than your budgeted amount.

Energy Assistance

There are a variety of Energy Assistance programs available for natural gas consumers. The assistance may be in the form of a reduction of your natural gas bill and/or a special payment plan based on your household income. Eligibility for these programs is usually based on total household income. Contact Dominion Energy Ohio as soon as you get a delinquent notice. The sooner you call, the more options there may be to help you. Available payment plans and other payment assistance options will be discussed with you.
